The Kevin Walsh Collection Monmartre, Paris

 

From 1872 to 1914 many notable artists lived and worked in Montmartre including, Renoir, Degas, Toulouse Lautrec and Picasso, the rents were low and the congenial atmosphere was an inspiration for them to produce new movements in art. The picture depicts a scene set in the early 1970s complete with a car of the period, artists still painting and selling their works to the many tourists that still visit.
